Libby has been practicing architecture for over 25 years. She started her career in Boston working with firms specializing in healthcare and corporate design before briefly establishing her own firm in 1999 to focus on residential projects. After relocating to the Bay Area in 2002 Libby joined a Menlo Park based architecture firm where she worked with a variety of clients focused on custom residential projects. In 2015, Libby established Libby Raab Architecture where she continues her commitment to residential projects with an emphasis on highly individualized designs.
Inspired by an architect grandfather and uncle and her interior designer mother, Libby knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a profession that balanced the intersection of art and technology.
There were so many buildings in my small Indiana hometown that my grandfather designed that had real impact in the community. I grew up in a house designed by my grandfather and often visited my grandparents in their mid century modern home designed by him as well. I took it for granted that a lot of thoughtful planning had gone into make our house my home.
